[5.x]: Dashboard. After merging entry types "Entries" menu shows up as category menu

What happened?

Description

I couldn't find this report and is very weird. I did and entrify and entry merge and after that the entries menu is broken, works but not as expected.

The Entry menu is labeled as Categories menu and all the sections shows up together, structures, singles, channels.

Watch out the untranslated label "Categories".

Steps to reproduce

I'm not sure, I must repeat the process, to check it again, but all I did was:

1. Import some content from wordpress with wp-import
2. Entrify categories
3. Merge categories entry type with my existing entry type.

Expected behavior

It doesn't break the dashboard menu

Hi, thanks for getting in touch!

As of version 5.9, the entry index pages are customisable. See #17779 for more details.

The craft entrify/categories command will create a “Categories” page and assign the entrified categories group to it. If entry sources were not edited before and therefore are not saved in the project config, they’ll all be showing under the newly created “Categories” page.

If you wish, you could open the customise sources modal and save what you have there before the entrification process. Or you can change the text and icon and choose which sources to assign to which page after entrification.

If you’d like to have that custom text translated, you’ll need to provide your own translations via the site translation category (e.g. via translations/de/site.php file for a German language).

To start customising the entry index pages, use the 3 dots menu in the second column in your screenshot and select “Customise sources”.

I hope this helps for now. I’m also having a look at what we can do about this.

@zalito12 Just to confirm, everything that was placed under the (new) “Categories” page are sections created from entrified category groups, correct?

(Just making sure no existing normally-created sections ended up in there automatically.)

We were able to reproduce this – it only happens if the entry source settings had never been saved prior to running the entrify command.

Fixed now (23b181b).
