Determine a fields visual layout in the CP in the field layout editor

This is a very small Quality of life request but I've run into it several times and this time I finally said enough is enough I'm making it a feature request 😄

When configuring building blocks for a website with the same "entries" field it's sometimes nicer to have them as chips visualy and other times its better as cards. Now you would have to create multiple fields to achieve this in the CP but is would be nice if this can be configured in the field layout editor the same way as field handles

Thanks for posting that! The general idea of being able to override certain field settings at the layout level has come up a few times (#8688, #12395, #16806, #17559). We’d like to make it possible but there are some complications we need to work through.
