When checking "Header row" in a table the checkbox doesn't get activated

Description

When you make a new table and try to make the first row a header row, the function works but the checkbox does not get highlighted.

When you click out of it and then again go to that panel, the checkbox is highlighted and the row is now a header row.

Hi, thanks for reporting! It looks like it’s happening because once you enable the “Header row” switch, the cursor gets moved to the next row, and that next row hasn’t been marked as a header, so the switch is off. You can see that if you, e.g. select the first cell, turn on the header row and then press escape twice, so that both balloons get closed. I’m trying to track down why this happens.

This bug is in CKEditor 5 itself (ckeditor/ckeditor5#17962), and it’s fixed in v45.0.0 (released 2025-04-07). Craft’s CKEditor plugin is currently running v44.0.0.

We’ll discuss this internally, as there are some breaking changes in the 45.0.0 release.

CKEditor 4.8.0 is out now, which updates CKEditor 5 to v45.0.0, which includes that bug fix. (#397)
