Support XyWrite and other apps that hook INT 9 ?

Probably you don't want to bother with this, but there's a community of XyWrite users that would be grateful for it. XyWrite hooks into INT 9 for keyboard handling. It seems (I don't pretend to understand this) that when I run it with msdos-player, it gets keystrokes both from the BIOS and from INT 9, so every character typed appears twice. If there's a way to send only the INT 9 keystroke (and apologies if I'm getting this entirely confused), that would be great. But again, it may not be worth the effort.

It is doing this but it uses int16h ax=1 which doesn't remove the key code from the buffer. I don't really get what it's doing but I am looking at it. I did fix the mouse though.

Ah! I see! I hadn't looked at the translation. I'll download his version when it arrives and will try it out with XyWrite when I'm back at my Windows machine, and will report back.

Update: he fixed the download, and thanked you for telling him about it. A quick test shows that the new version fixes the XyWrite keyboard. EDIT: and it seems to work with the terminal by double-clicking on an exe created with -c.

Yes, that's just an issue with vt mode which his builds don't support.

The keyboard changes broke wordperfect and qbasic. The newest changes should fix it without breaking xywrite again.

I used GitHub desktop to download the current vt code and built it in Msys, as I've done before. The WordPerfect ed.exe program works perfectly, but WPDOS 5.1 doesn't respond to the keyboard at all. I didn't download the earlier commit; only the current one.

Really? Wordperfect 5.1 works fine for me. 5.1Plus and 6 still have a repeat stuck problem though. Try the artifact from https://github.com/cracyc/msdos-player/actions/runs/29757129951 .

Sorry - I keep calling it 5.1, but it's actually 5.1+ that shows the problem, exactly as you say. I'll get this right in the future.

The last fixes all the problems with the keyboard that I found except one where xywrite will sometimes drop a number when moving with the seperate arrow keys, doesn't seem to happen with the numpad keys though.
