BSoD in Win2K Setup

So I was in the middle of setting up Windows 2000, and before it could show drives to install Windows on, it got a BSoD. I retried, the same thing happened again.
It has the error code "0x0000007B (0xF2463848,0xC0000034,0x00000000,0x00000000)"
and says "INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE".
The ISO I have has worked in the past for every emulator I've used, and I even tried retrying it via VirtualBox & QEMU, the ISO works.
I decided to try setting up Windows 2K since the furthest edition of Windows uploaded for the public was Windows 98, and I wanted to try something new as well.

Oh, on the top it originally said PCDOS330-WIN310-VGA.img, but I decided to go on MSPaint and change "310" in "WIN310" to "WIN2K" to make it easier for me to remember what OS this is.
I don't know if this is a bug with non-Windows9x family systems, or the webpage doesn't support Windows 2000. May you please give me information on this? Thanks!

Did you install it in virtual box? If so do it again with qemu instead
If I remember correctly windows 2000 is unsupported but I may be wrong

I have a feeling they were doing exactly what they said: trying to install Windows 2000 ON v86, as in no other virtual machine software involved.

Yes, I did not include any other software for the virtual machine. Plus I only used QEMU to convert the .vhd to a .img

So you installed it under Virtualbox and then used qemu-img to convert it to a raw .img?

No, I installed it via v86 with an ISO for the CD image and a (formatted) .img w/ 2.5GB storage total free space. (I have no idea if that's enough to install Win2K) It also has 256MB RAM.

Qemu used to experience an issue with windows 2k where the IDE write IRQ was too fast for the OS which they made a slowdown hack for, allowing it to be installed.
This is an issue they only experienced it during installation and after installing the hack can safely be turned off

The error caused the installer to think the disk is full, and gave an INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE BSoD.

As a test, I installed it under qemu, but experience the same error

v86 might not support win2k at all, but I don't know if there are any workarounds, but if there are any, feel free to tell me.

A potential solution would be to replace the Windows 2000 IDE driver with Uniata , which is the same driver used in ReactOS, and the IDE does indeed work here on v86

Interesting. If you launch the Windows 2000 install CD with an HDD attached, you get the error described above, but if you launch the Windows 2000 install CD without an HDD attached, it continues normally, though obviously it can't find an HDD to install to.

Also, a similar thing happens with ReactOS, though the exact error is different. Could this be related?

I'm thinking it might be because the HDD and CD drives are on the same IDE (Primary Master and Primary Slave as opposed to Primary Master and Secondary Master).

I wonder if using QEMU to convert a Windows 2000 .vhd will solve the problem? Might as well try it.

I installed it under qemu and it still doesn't boot on v86
