Welcome to my GitHub profile!
I’m a passionate developer and technology leader based in Korea, with a career spanning over three decades in software, firmware, and hardware development, particularly in the printing and imaging industry.
Ever since I graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in Mathematics, I’ve been driven by a curiosity for how things work—and how to make them work even better. My journey has taken me from Unix system development in the 1980s, to leading-edge laser and fanfold printer controllers, to data-driven printing and plotting solutions for some of Korea’s largest industries.
I love to build things that bridge hardware and software, and I thrive on solving tough technical challenges—whether it’s optimizing firmware for resource-constrained devices, designing robust printing solutions, or leading large-scale software projects.
- Languages: C, C++, Fluent English
- Platforms: Linux, Unix, Embedded Systems, Windows
- Expertise: Firmware, Algorithms, Printing Technology, Project Management
- Specialties:
- Laser/fanfold/large-format printer controller development
- Data-driven printing and plotting solutions
- AI training data labeling
- Business application software
I’m always eager to learn new things—recently, I’ve been exploring AI, labeling data for OCR and music recognition projects, and even getting into documentation for satellite onboard computers!
- Enhanced cross-development tools for the Z80 platform and contributed to Unix system environments in the early days of my career.
- Designed and shipped numerous laser printer controllers for leading Korean and international companies—sometimes as the lead architect, sometimes as a hands-on developer, always as a problem solver.
- Built plotting and printing solutions used by Korea’s major shipyards, financial institutions, and postal service.
- Led large-scale projects like Korea Post’s nationwide DM printing system (500M+ pages/year!) and electronic plan approval systems for the shipbuilding industry.
- Ventured into AI data labeling, supporting OCR engines and music digitization projects.
These days, I’m with IMST Co., Ltd., and I continue to enjoy working at the intersection of hardware and software. My recent work includes documenting complex test procedures for satellite onboard computers, and supporting innovative projects in printing and AI.
If you share my passion for embedded systems, printing technology, or just love a good algorithmic challenge, feel free to reach out!
