Missing Caching and Retention Documentation #93

Is caching already supported, or is that doc page a stub for features not yet developed?
Would be nice to get an answer from the concourse team.
I don't think that page ever existed. Not going to bother digging through git history to find it. We should document the things we cache and for how long. A few things off the top of my head:
- Volumes from
getsteps are cached for some time. Not sure for how long though or what the scope is. - Task caches. I think there's an issue with those being cached indefinitely 😬
- Check containers are cached and re-used for a period of time. I think it's currently an hour
- Volumes from
I'd love to learn more about how resources and task images are cached. These documents are currently empty.
