How to use it in already existing serverless Project?

Hello Guys. How do we use it in an already existing serverless framework project? Recently we hit the 500 limits for cloudformation. The plugin says to include the CloudFormation file in the "template" property. What should we include in that file  ? because CloudFormation template is generated by serverless framework. Thank you for your time.
