I didn't know if new installers are backported to 1.x versions, but I know we have a lot of users who still use 1.x (as they're predominantly Drupal or WordPress projects), so I went ahead and backported our installer to the 1.x branch (assuming there are still point releases going out). If this is covered by some other mechanism, feel free to disregard.
