Shall we provide a proper my.cnf file? For example our template from here: http://fromdual.com/mysql-configuration-file-sample
Teemu: Proper my.cnf template would be nice to have, but it has to be customized anyway without the help of configuration tools.

Directory /etc/my.cnf.d looks very uncommon to me. I am used in /etc/mysql/conf.d. What says the standard? How do the others (MariaDB does it like this)?
