1. Fix broken glob pattern matching in exclude checks
   - Changed from literal case matching to bash glob pattern matching
   - Now uses [[ "$file" == $exclude_pattern ]] for proper glob support
   - Fixes: patterns like "*.log" now correctly match foo.log

2. Add error logging for directory restoration failure
   - Changed silent "cd || return 1" to explicit error logging
   - Now logs clear error message when cd to old_pwd fails
   - Improves debugging when directory navigation fails

Why: Bug #1 prevented glob-based exclusions from working, defeating the
purpose of pattern-based file filtering. Bug #2 made debugging directory
navigation failures difficult due to silent failures.

These fixes resolve critical issues that could cause file copying and
worktree operations to fail unpredictably.
