Version of gnzsnz ib-gateway

I am a little bit confused. You write that the latest image can be started by:

docker run ghcr.io/code-hustler-ft3d/ibg-controller:latest ...

Is the gnzsnz ib-gateway included in above image? What version is used?

I am asking because I always try to use the stable version of IB software and do not want to be a guinea pig in live trading for their alpha software.

I found it myself, for v0.7 its IB Gateway 10.45.1c.

Thanks for the kind words — good questions.

Yes, it's built FROM ghcr.io/gnzsnz/ib-gateway. That base bundles IB Gateway itself (IBKR's install + Zulu JRE); ibg-controller just layers its own controller + in-JVM agent on top and replaces IBC. You get gnzsnz's scaffolding, with ibg-controller driving the UI instead of IBC.

v0.7.0 ships IB Gateway 10.45.1c, exactly as you found. Published release images pin the upstream by digest (gnzsnz/ib-gateway:10.45.1c@sha256:b4ede80…) rather than a moving tag, so a given ibg-controller release always ships the same Gateway build — no surprise drift. (We learned that the hard way: v0.5.7 built against :stable and silently shipped the older 10.37.1q, so since v0.5.8 we pin by digest.)

On stable vs. alpha — you're on the stable line, not alpha. As of today gnzsnz's channels resolve to:

• :stable → 10.45.1g (the 10.45.x stable series)
• :latest → 10.47.1d

10.45.1c sits on that 10.45.x stable line, a few patch revisions behind the current stable point (10.45.1g). The 10.47.x "latest" channel is the newer one — and we're not on it.

If you want to control the Gateway version yourself, UPSTREAM_IMAGE is a build arg:

docker build --build-arg UPSTREAM_IMAGE=ghcr.io/gnzsnz/ib-gateway:stable -t ibg-controller:stable .

or pin any specific digest. The published :latest/:0.7 images are the convenience path; building yourself lets you track gnzsnz's stable channel directly.

And yes — good call. We'll note the bundled IB Gateway version in each release's notes from here on (I'll add it to v0.7.0), and we're adding OCI image labels so a future docker inspect reports the bundled Gateway version without having to start the container.
