This project consists of an investigation regarding verifiable delay functions (VDF). Its definition, concrete proposals and even an implementation carried out by Chia Networks are studied.

The context of the research is the implementation of VDFs in the Random UChile randomness beacon, which would allow to replace the current Sloth model that requires a considerably longer verification time than a VDF.
