not working with 5GHz #61
Comments
sudo iwconfig wlxd037455a04b0 chan 140 wlxd037455a04b0 32 channels in total; available frequencies : But still no 5G wifi in gui list. |
I'm having the same problem with the exact same device. I used this driver in the past https://github.com/jeremyb31/rtl8822bu which used to work with 5GHz up until 5.4.something just fine (can't get this one to work on newer kernels). Can provide more info/logs if required. |
My bad, I did found the answer. It's works fine with 5Ghz on ubuntu 18 and 19. I just changed channel on my router from auto to 40. My laptop and smart phonefound auto channel, but this adapter not. |
Thank you for posting your fix! Here is the output of iw list, showing that band 2 with 5GHz should be in fact supported (if I interpret it correctly): `

After further tests with another wifi router 5GHz wifi actually seems to be working, it should be a router problem. Maybe range is weaker compared to the other driver I've been using before, but I have no way to test that. Can be closed I guess. |
All installed and working fine on 2.4GHz, but 5GHz wifi not showing up in list.
Installed with dkms (tried this version too - https://github.com/cilynx/rtl88x2bu)
The devide is TP-Link Archer T4U V3.
System: ubuntu 18.04 (5.3.0-28-generic) and 19.10 (5.3.0-29-generic).
