Undefined property - Error even in Example

Hey philsturgeon,
First off... thanks for the great code here. I've been using the rest-server and its been great.

However, in the midst of trying to troubleshoot an issue that most likely has nothing to do with you code, I came across an error in the logfiles that seems to even be there when I run the example files that you provide.

ERROR - 2012-06-04 15:47:42 --> Severity: Notice --> Undefined property: Example::$db /mypath/REST_Controller.php 244

This seems to ALWAYS fire, even when the controller continues to function.

Can you let me know if its something I might be doing wrong or if this is a known issue?

A little more info. After looking at that line 244 of REST_Controller.php I see this...

// Use whatever database is in use (isset returns false)
elseif (@$this->db)
{
    $this->rest->db = $this->db;
}

Is there a default DB setting that I'm missing? Should this really be erroring out all the time?

i don't think this is the best fix, but it works:

the issue is $rest is set as NULL above; it will throw a WARNING if you try to set a value to $this->rest. If you have error_reporting turned down low, no problems, otherwise the error message

tags mess up the output.

Down and dirty solution is to add:
$this->rest = new stdClass();
to line 238

sorry - better and more correct is put it in your _construct()

line 145:
//Default $rest var
$this->rest = new stdClass();
