The state of each game is owned by the users in the form of links. Therefore there is no limit to how many games can be hosted on chesslink.
In addition to the basic rules of piece movement, the following rules are implemented:
- Castling, and you may never castle out of, through, or into check
- Promotion, but only to queen
- En passant
