Haiku provides OpenSSL 3 through HaikuPorts, but it does not provide a compatible system SQLCipher. The existing vendored feature couples bundled SQLCipher to vendored OpenSSL, so disabling it to use the platform TLS library also removes the bundled encrypted database implementation. Add a Haiku-specific feature that enables rusqlite bundled-sqlcipher without enabling vendored OpenSSL. Native Haiku builds can now link the system OpenSSL while preserving SQLCipher-backed database encryption.

SQLCipher is deprecated, but still used on Ubuntu Touch because old devices do not have full disk encryption. Once it is not used by DeltaTouch the plan is to remove it. This is why #8742 is not finished and merged. |
