record mode disables backspace

Describe the bug
When I try to use "vhs record" it all works well, allowing me to type into my terminal, and when I press Ctrl+D it saves recorded steps to the output file. However, whenever I press on Backspace i.e. to fix a typo in my typing, it does not apply backspace even though its recorded in output file.
