Great news, you don't need to start the Server.exe anymore, I got rid of it. It now works out of the box (assuming you have Synapse installed). Just put the unzipped folder in your GameData Directory (next to the Squad folder).

Unzip and place the KSPChromaControl folder in the GameData directory in the KSP folder. The Server folder contains an executable file that takes commands from KSP in order to display the game state on your keyboard, so you need to start that server for the plugin to work. It will ask you to open your firewall for the specific process, otherwise the game cannot communicate with the keyboard server. Please report any issues you find, so I can fix them.
