Error building librabbitmq 2.0.0 on high sierra from pip install

I got the following error on pip install of librabbitmq on high-sierra:

I don't see anything obvious. It looks like some internal-ish macro changes broke the compile of the C portion. Any advice would be appreciated, as I really don't want to fall back to amqplib
