Mining Hat
The Mining Hat is a useful hat which lets you mine faster and lets you see in dark areas.
The hat has no armor.
When on head mining with an pickaxe is 20% faster (configurable). It can be increased with Efficiency enchantment (see enchantment section). It is stackable with pickaxe entchantments and effects of potions.
In dark areas where light level is 7 or less (like monster spawn) you get Night Vision effect. Since version 1.5.0 the effect can be enabled/disabled with the miningHatNightVisionEnabled config.
Since version 1.8.3 (Minecraft 1.16+) wearing a Mining Hat makes Piglins neutral. This can be enabled/disabled with the miningHatMakePiglinsNeutralEnabled config.
Since version 1.19.2-3.0.2.0 the Lucent mod is supported. The described Night Vision effect is replaced by the Lucent light effect (light level 15) when this mod is installed.
To craft the Mining Hat you need one Glowstone Dust and four Gold Ingots.
Collecting a Glowstone Dust or a Gold Ingot unlocks the recipe in vanilla recipe book.
The hat has a durability of 450 (configurable since 1.7.0) but it gets no damage when player is attacked.
The Mining Hat gets damage after mining a block with an pickaxe and every second where Night Vision is active it looses one durability point. When Night Vision was activated by a potion the hat don't loose Night Vision durability.
Since version 1.5.0 damaging can be enabled/disabled with the miningHatDamageEnabled config.
The hat can be repaired with gold ingots using an anvil.
