Low cost estimate?

Maybe i am doing something wrong. Deployed a basic app (using turborepo example) that has barely anything and ended up with 130$ bill for few weeks.

Could you give an estimation on how much a low-cost example would cost?

@rootical, have you seen Estimated Costs section of the README? The turborepo example is using NextjsGlobalFunctions so it should be < $70. Most of your cost is coming from NAT Gateways. For less expensive alternatives, see the README.

Any way I can adjust README to have better communicate cost in your opinion? Please let me know.

@bestickley, sure i did, maybe just a low-cost example estimate would be great to know. Thanks! My bad, I wasn't attentive enough with Nat Gateways.
As for the README, it would be nice to know how to disable next functions overall for example (I assume it turns API routes to lamda functions?). README says Nat Gateway can be removed or alternatives used but how exactly? In my case I was using separate cdk stacks, like Cognito, AppSync with Lamdas and GraphQL, and none of that worked when deployed in a next app using cdk-nextjs. Not sure what the real reason was, I tried going through logs at S3 but couldn't find anything meaningful while a deployed app was just saying smth like "Network Error". Obviously, locally everything worked fine. I know it's being read as a mess, I am not that proficient with AWS yet. I might think it's isolated in a way, so any information on how to use external services out of this stack will be useful at least for me. And maybe more information on the logs, maybe I am dumb, but couldn't find what was the reason my cognito auth didn't work.

Yes, I'll keep this issue open to track low-cost estimate on README. Estimated low cost for alternative NAT Gateway would be: $0.0042/hr * 730 hrs/mo = $3.07/mo/AZ. If you have 2 AZs then $6.14.

So $10.57 total with NextjsGlobalFunctions.
