Create the Java SDK under cdevents/sdk-java

Following from cdfoundation/sig-events#110

Quoting initial description:

Create an extension for the CloudEvents Java SDK that provides CD Events definitions and types:

https://github.com/cloudevents/sdk-java

This SDK can follow different approaches, by using just the Java SDK or the Spring integration.
We should have basic coverage for events defined in the vocabulary and at least an example app producing and consuming these events.

Can this be closed now given https://github.com/cdevents/sdk-java exists?

As for the sample app mentioned in the description I wonder if the cloudevents-plugin for Jenkins could be adapted? It currently emits CloudEvents, but for my own purpose I added another sink for Kafka producing CDEvents. I'm more than happy to share the code if you point where and how to do it. Cheers!

Or maybe for the app an example like one of these would work?

Unfortunately we haven't created any example app producing and consuming these events, but the Spinnaker PoC uses the Java-sdk methods from this file https://github.com/rjalander/echo/blob/cdevent_consume/echo-pubsub-core/src/main/java/com/netflix/spinnaker/echo/pubsub/CDEventCreator.java, until the SDK is available in the maven repository (cdevents/sdk-java#9)

Yea, I'm doing something similar for my purpose. I created a copy of CDEventEnums in my code until cdevents/sdk-java#9 is merged. My question was more about why is this ticket still open? Would creating a few examples like those mentioned in my previous comment be sufficient?

This has been marked as "Done" - shall this issue be closed and further work tracked in separate issues, or shall we mark this as in progress?

Yes we can close the current issue, I will open another issue to create an example app for producing and consuming events using java-sdk.
