Data Carpentry Site fails to build

When creating https://github.com/bkmgit/2024-05-06-uci-nnlm-online/tree/gh-pages the site fails to build during the Build with Jekyll step. Error message from log

Liquid Exception: GET https://api.github.com/repos/bkmgit/sched_ext/contributors?per_page=100: 403 - The history or contributor list is too large to list contributors for this repository via the API. // See: https://docs.github.com/rest/repos/repos#list-repository-contributors in /_layouts/base.html

The problem is specific to me, the build process gets metadata from all user repositories on GitHub associated with the hosting account, not just the the main repository. The sched_ext repository causes the build process to fail as it has very many contributors. Once deleted my fork of sched_ext, build process completed. Following the api documentation it is possible to reproduce the error using:
