X11 cairo error when running functions from AWS

I cloned the git to a EC2 AWS instance using louis aslett rstudio AMI.  everything is working fine except for the visualizations functions which are calling for X11cairo device.  

R gives error:
**Error in .External2(C_X11, d$display, d$width, d$height, d$pointsize,  : 
  unable to start device X11cairo**

is there any workaround that would allow working with the functions in AWS?
