Legacy Bnb Chain Extension Wallet (V2)

This repository provides the V2 version of the BNB Chain Wallet extension for Chrome and Firefox. As the V2 version is being phased out in favor of V3 (bew-lite), which has limited functionality, some users may still need V2 for features like token recovery or other purposes. Here, you can download and manually install the V2 extension.

Note: The V2 extension is no longer officially supported. Use it at your own risk.

Installation Instructions

Install on Chrome

Follow these steps to manually install the V2 extension on Google Chrome:

1. Download the Extension

   • Download the chrome-extension.zip file from the assets/v2-extension/ folder.

2. Extract the Zip File

   • Unzip the downloaded file to a folder on your computer.

3. Open Chrome Extensions Page

   • Open Chrome and type chrome://extensions/ in the address bar, then press Enter.

4. Enable Developer Mode

   • In the top right corner, toggle the switch to enable "Developer mode."

5. Load the Extension

   • Click "Load unpacked" and select the folder where you extracted the extension files.

6. Verify Installation

   • The extension should now appear in your list of installed extensions and be ready to use.

Install on Firefox

Follow these steps to manually install the V2 extension on Mozilla Firefox:

1. Download the Extension

   • Download the firefox-extension.zip file from the assets/v2-extension/ folder.

2. Extract the Zip File

   • Unzip the downloaded file to a folder on your computer.

3. Open Firefox Debugging Page

   • Open Firefox and type about:debugging in the address bar, then press Enter.

4. Load Temporary Add-on

   • Click "This Firefox" in the left sidebar.
   • Click "Load Temporary Add-on" and select the manifest.json file from the extracted folder.

5. Verify Installation

   • The extension should now be installed temporarily and visible in your add-ons list.
