Single analysis GUI becomes unresponsive

When I try to upload a 2.9 GB WAV Audiomoth file in BN v. 2.3.0 the program becomes unresponsive. Loading file in sound editor and saving it again doen not help. When I use option of Batch file analysis it does work. Any ideas what is going on here?

Are you using the "Single file" tab?
If so, uncheck the spectrogram generation before you load the audio file. For large files spectrogram generation can take up alot of time.

Dear Josef, I used the single file tab. I've tried again with spectogram generation unchecked, but the problem remains. Small file (at least up to 200 MB, flac) load well, but files of 1 GB (flac in this case) do not. The BirdNet window gets completely black and becomes unresponsive. Best, popko

I can reproduce the problem, we'll see what we can do.

This looks like a known issue and limitation of gradio (our frontend library), it's not something we can fix easily, I might just add a warning for large files.
If you need to analyse large files you can use the batch-analysis, since the files don't get loaded into memory as a whole, compared to single-file
