Hello,
any chance this library will support JWE creation using algorithms such as RSA-OAEP-256?

I'm not familiar with it, but I'd consider adding it, or merging someone else's work to do so.

just to make sure, the README.md mentions that libjwt supports JWE https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc7516 but that is something that is not there (yet)?

It's not fully supported, yet. There's some accommodations in the code to help get it done. It's my next major addition to LibJWT, but that doesn't mean no one else can jump in to help 👍🏼
