[BUG]: add lock management for accessing devices #643

A locking concept is needed to better coordinate the access of devices through multiple queues. Additionally, one could implement a mechanism to expose the change of ownership through new messages. This would allow GUIs to pick up the info and visualize it, e.g through status LEDs
