Summary of Changes
Hello @alexeagle, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!
This pull request refactors how GitHub repository metadata is fetched and displayed on module pages. By moving the data retrieval from client-side JavaScript to a build-time process using Next.js getStaticProps, the content becomes statically rendered. This change significantly improves the page's search engine optimization (SEO) by making the repository descriptions indexable by crawlers, and enhances initial page load performance.
Highlights
- Performance & SEO Improvement: Migrated GitHub repository metadata fetching from client-side useEffect to build-time getStaticProps to enhance page load performance and improve search engine indexing.
- New Data Handling Module: Introduced data/githubMetadata.ts to encapsulate the logic for reading pre-generated GitHub metadata from static JSON files.
- Static Data Integration: Updated data/moduleStaticProps.ts to fetch GitHub metadata during the build process and pass it as props to the module pages.
- Client-side Cleanup: Removed the useGithubMetadata client-side hook from pages/modules/[module].tsx as its functionality is now handled by static props.
- Build Artifact Management: Added /data/github_metadata/*.json to .gitignore to prevent committing the generated metadata files.

Code Review
This pull request is a great improvement for SEO and performance by moving the GitHub repository metadata fetching to build-time using getStaticProps. The implementation is solid, removing the client-side useEffect hook and replacing it with static data. I have a few suggestions for the new data/githubMetadata.ts file to improve code quality by using asynchronous file operations, enhancing type safety, and handling an edge case in data transformation.

By avoiding a client-side useEffect, we get static content that the search crawler will be able to index. Then the full-text search can match on content of the repo descriptions
