so i had to reboot.

Your problem is similar to the one encountered here. When installing VSCode, it doesn't check whether the keyring and source already exist, but instead concat them... causing conflicts.
What you can do is:

sudo rm -R /etc/apt/sources.list.d/vscode.list
sudo rm -R /etc/apt/keyrings/packages.microsoft.gpg
sudo rm -R /usr/share/keyrings/microsoft.gpg

and then retry to install vscode ... or Omakub.

I saw that removing the key gave you problems because it wasn't present. Could you check now if you have it or if the file /usr/share/keyrings/microsoft.gpg doesn't exist?

@Kasui92 I was having the same issue as OP, attempted to install form a fresh dual boot of Ubuntu, attempted the same commands and I still have /usr/share/keyrings/microsoft.gpg

I am, however, able to just launch omakub from the search window and am trying to just run all the installers through there.

Update:
From what I can tell omakub did install, I ran the desktop installer script again through omakub and now it looks and feels like it should, and I have all the packages installed as far as I can tell.

At this point,error persists when attempting any apt commands, may do a clean install of Ubuntu and see if i'm able to use apt before trying omakub.

This fixed it for me, after running these 2 commands i ran
source ~/.local/share/omakub/install.sh

and it worked like a charm, thanks for all your help! Hope this works for OP as well.
