Base-Geth: Slow sync + Snap sync issues

We recently experienced that Base-Geth performance is highly dropped over the last few months.

Now we reach the point that Snap Sync never can switch from 100% state to complete because the Node is always busy and running after the network.

Using snapshots are also not a good option nowadays, we did restore a Node from a 3day old snapshot, we do process around 1block/sec, we need 6 days to reach the chain head.

Reading issues about Base-Reth I am not sure that switching to Reth will help, but please share the current status of Base-Reth performance.
