Versions in machine-readable format?

It's tedious to manually pick op-geth and op-node versions from the Dockerfile.

Would prefer having it in machine readable format, so it's possible to have some kind of automation.
A simple JSON file would work.

@JenabaBa lets copy versions.json into the final docker images which will solve this issue

I can see the https://github.com/base/node/commits/main/versions.json has been added recently, which in practice solves my issue, as we build from source anyway.

Feel free to close this issue if you think it's fully solved in your opinion.

Sounds good, we'll probably still bundle into the container too, as it's easier than parsing the version tag from metrics.
