Hello, I'm Martin Atanasov

How I started

I have more than 10 year+ experience with hardware (fixing my PC at my home). As a student I start growing my programming skills since 2019. I am skilled in programming with Java, particularly in backend development. I have experience with desktop, mobile, and web applications. I primarily use the Spring framework and, when necessary, frontend templates for Java, such as Thymeleaf and Vaadin Flow. Other things I enjoy are using Linux OS for increased productivity in application development and AWS as a cloud platform for hosting. Everyday I'm learning something new and continuously improve my skills, even with very limited time.

My future goals include: Microservices, Spring Cloud, HashiCorp Vault, Quarkus.

What I do

I started my career as a Mechanical Engineer, gaining over 3 years of hands-on experience in the field. Over time, I transitioned into the world of Quality Assurance (QA), where I currently work, focusing on test automation.

I'm passionate about Java programming and constantly exploring backend technologies such as the Spring Framework. I enjoy building efficient and reliable systems, and I’m particularly interested in working with cloud platforms like AWS and developing in Linux environments.

How I learn about the newest technologies and improve myself

After completing my master's degree in Information Technology, I started practicing by solving tasks on the HackerRank website. After some time, I began watching tutorials on YouTube and reading various online guides. Through this type of learning, I realized that free resources are not always of high quality, so I started purchasing courses from the Udemy platform, making sure in advance that the instructor is a professional.

Despite having little free time, I try to dedicate some of it to hobby projects and experimenting with new technologies. Whenever possible, I join technology conferences such as JavaOne, JPrime, or online webinars related to Java, provided by dev.bg.

Another method I find effective is following the @DanVega channel. Dan is a blogger, a Java Champion, and a Spring Developer Advocate at Broadcom.
