Design review: modal dialog

Modals are great. (The tiny arrowheads for tokens in that image need work though, but thats another issue)

I like them too. Perhaps a little more drop shadow to make them "pop" a bit more from the underlying page. But I would not focus on redesigning this particular element since there are more serious issues that need our energy/resources and that fixing them would have greater impact to the improvement of UX.

Not a designer, but I am OCD about pixels... and the right margin on the close x kinda bothers me. Seems it should be closer to equivalent with the top margin or at least as much as the margin in the content area (noticeable here because of the table header styling in the token display).

It'd be great to get @dariusgarza's input here. Dialogs were never included in the styleguide for 1.1.0, but we did the best we could to replicate table styling into the dialogs. There are some situations where a "modal" is used that also creates a dark-gray background to disable the rest of the page. The screenshot in the summary is just a normal "dialog" (not a modal dialog) that leaves the background of the page active. Any Views or Layout dialogs are usually modals. Here's a screenshot:

The jQuery UI CSS is a garbage fire. It's a specificity nightmare and it looks like an accumulation of code by different devs over a very long period of time.

I want to redo this even if it's going to look the same.

That said, I think it can use design love. I think we need a consistent visual language for draggable things, although I don't know what that should be (no one liked the draggable table row icons 😢)

Modals can be draggable or not

I think it'd be nice on modals and entity edit form to have a sticky form-actions bar.

The title bar is bland looking. I think we can pull some stuff from fieldset styling to make them a bit more attractive.
