Deezer is not working properly on my Linux Smartphone

Hello, I installed Deezer from FlatHub, but it's not working properly on my PinePhone Pro running Manjaro Linux...

Two main problems:

1 - It doesn't scale properly to the smartphone's screen size (horizontal movement is impossible),

2 - I can't use the touch keyboard (no characters are displayed in the search)...

Is there any way to improve this?

I am sorry to disappoint, but this project does only recompile the deezer-desktop application to Linux. We can do simple stuff with patches but no redesign of the UI or such.

1. There is one patch we could do. We could remove the smallest window requirements so that the app would at least fit on the screen. But the UI will not scale properly, it will just not render at all.

2. What DE are you using? On KDE the on screen keyboard should just work? If you are using Gnome it is kind of expected to not work most of the time.

You could just use Spotube. It takes the algorithm from Spotify and the free music from Youtube and gives you a pretty good free experience.

Yes it works perfectly on the adaptation to the screen size of my smartphone (PinePhone Pro under Manjaro Linux and gnome/phosh),

but on the other hand it is still impossible to type a search from SqueekBoard (under phosh)...

Based on this thread and other issues I've found online, there might be a lot of reasons why you cannot type.

I believe the issue is that electron/chromium does not support up-to-date input API, hence virtual keyboards do not work.
See electron/electron#33662

Edit:
I think changing the flag Preferred Ozone platform to Wayland should work. This can be done through command line or patch, I'm going to investigate.

but nothing seems to work. I think it is because of the lack of support for gtk4 (electron/electron#33690)

Hi, I don't know how to solve the keyboard issue, but I'm interested in fixing the very bad responsiveness of the app when the width is under 768px (with the bottom playing bar being cropped and hidden, making some functions inaccessible...). This is very annoying, even on a computer when tiling the app, and I sincerely don't know how the team made such an unresponsive app haha

I think I could try to make some improvements to the UI, so that it is always at least usable up to a certain point. That would be plain CSS changes though, but I wonder if it is ok if I try it or it is better to not tamper at all with the UI (even if it only improves it, and with CSS media queries to make sure not to change anything when the UI is already working)?

I think it's okay to change some layouts under that breakpoint because it was not supported before anyway. However, you will see, since it is a bundled app, it is very hard to modify the css. Most elements don't have a "stable" id, they rather have a random id that changes for each verson/build of the app. Also, css code is in a bundled file which makes it impossible to patch for sure (it could be rendered useless at any time if deezer devs make some changes).

<deezer> --enable-wayland-ime --ozone-platform-hint=auto --wayland-text-input-version=3

I will add this to the docs

under gnome 46.0 (not sure if it is important) + wayland (this is important)
