Emulator freaks out when mouse card inserted into slot 2

Set-up:

1. I don't think it's a specific interaction with other cards, but I had a Disk II card in slot 6 and an extended 80-column card in the expansion slot, emulating Apple //e (enhanced).
2. Insert a Mouse card in slot 2.

Results:
Garbage appears on screen:

and emulator beeps forever until rebooted, at which point the mouse card seems to boot fine.

Notes:
Tested on sa2 in macOS. Also affects Mariani. Does not affect AppleWin because this config changes forces a reboot (and the mouse card then boots fine).

So,

my version of AppleWin tries some sort of P&P. the emulator does not stop when the hardware configuration is changed.

why? originally I did not know how to make a modal dialog on ImGui and I kind of liked the idea.

I perfectly know that the software of the Apple II does not support it and the real hardware would probably fry, but I wanted to make it electric safe (or let's say C++ safe).

Before trying to disable it, I'd like to see what happens. I can reproduce it. Will have a look.
