I was receiving an error 400 when attempting to upload a file to the s3 bucket. After researching, the error message indicated "this bucket does not accept acls".

To enable ACLS I did the following in the S3 bucket:

permissions > object ownership > ACLs enabled > save.

This then allowed me to have a successful upload of the avatar pic.

Worth noting: enabling ACLs is the quick fix, but newer buckets default to bucket owner enforced ownership for security reasons. If you control both uploader and bucket, consider using bucket policies or presigned URLs instead—they avoid ACL complexity and align better with AWS's current best practices. Also check if your upload code is explicitly setting x-amz-acl headers; removing those might let you keep ACLs disabled.
