Islandora is shipping with open seadragon. If there is a desire for mirador, that work has been started here: https://github.com/asulibraries/islandora_defaults/tree/mirador, it'll need block caching like at Islandora/openseadragon@d181928 but in theory, shouldn't be too difficult to implement on a basic level. we could go wild with providing config that exposes mirador options, but this is a minimal implementation so far.

I propose that for the initial roll out of the MVP, we stick with openseadragon since its deployed and configured by default out the box and that a feature enhancement be to swap that out for the sleeker and more feature-rich Mirador.

We now have the option of Mirador or Openseadragon from islandora_defaults after the merge of Islandora/islandora_defaults#10
We're using the asu_image view mode and the "image" model to to display "image" types of content.
There is an additional view mode for a large display of the viewer - most of that is part of #126

we've decided to go with openseadragon for the initial launch, simply because we're running out of time and this change isn't 100% necessary.
i'll leave this ticket open until we have the full viewer page configured that contains openseadragon
