Deep confusion with asdf #2253

How can we improve the documentation?

Hey everyone, I’m usually pretty comfortable with my dev tools, but I’ve been having a hard time with asdf lately. Honestly, I can’t wrap my head around what’s happening with the project and this migration to Go.

To make matters worse, the documentation feels completely hermetic to me. For example, just looking at the installation section, the sheer number of options is overwhelming. Instead of a straightforward "if you use Ubuntu, run these commands" type of guide, there are so many different paths, Go, Git, binary, package managers, that I honestly don't know what my best options are. The differences between the old version and the new version are a total mess in my head right now. Even when I turn to AI, it gets confused and can't put together a coherent setup; there’s always some error message screaming at me at random moments.

I know that for many of you here or those involved in development, things might seem simple, but asdf—which was always my rock for version management—has turned into a nightmare. I just wanted to vent.
