AUR packages doesnt work

Detailed Description

I tried to install many different AUR packages but nothing worked. I tried different AUR Helper, but nothing worked. I installed archcraft many times, but nothing changed.

Please describe the issue in detail
The download of the AUR packages crashes in the last install step.

1. yay -Syu vscodium | paru -S vscodium
2. the install crashes after some time

• ISO Version: The newest, I tried the default, the NVIDIA and the opensource version
• System Specs: Intel i5, GTX 960, 16GB RAM, 500GB SSD

I wanted to offer what helped me here since I just ran into this also.

Edit the file /etc/makepkg.conf (as root) and find the line that looks like:

OPTIONS=(strip docs !libtool !staticlibs emptydirs zipman purge debug lto)

and in there if "debug" doesn't have an "!" before it then add it in front like this:

OPTIONS=(strip docs !libtool !staticlibs emptydirs zipman purge !debug lto)
