Without this, any dependency that pulls ivy transitively may override
the version and potentially cause issue. In my machine, the hive tests
were pulling an old version of ivy, and subsequently failing with a
"NoSuchMethodError".

Yes, seems prudent to manage the version for the whole project if one part is going to depend on a particular version. LGTM.

Test build #31778 has finished for PR 5893 at commit ea2112d.

  • This patch passes all tests.
  • This patch merges cleanly.
  • This patch adds the following public classes (experimental):
    • abstract class Evaluator extends Params
    • abstract class PipelineStage extends Params with Logging
    • class BinaryClassificationEvaluator extends Evaluator with HasRawPredictionCol with HasLabelCol
