Motivation

Support the Kafka network protocol to enable users to use Fluss as a drop-in replacement for Kafka. This will allow users to leverage Fluss's real-time storage capabilities while maintaining compatibility with existing Kafka applications.

Solution

This is an umbrella issue, and will create sub-tasks in the future.

Is the plan support bidirectional client compatbility, i.e., all client versions can talk to Fluss (even very old client vesions)? Or will there be a "cut-off" and Fluss will only support clients from a specific version onwards?
