Is it possible to add ipv6 to a deployed Shared network?

SUMMARY

Can you tell me if it is possible to add ipv6 to a deployed Shared network in an advanced core zone if the fields related to ipv6 were not filled in during its creation. Perhaps this can be achieved by editing the database? The important point is that there are already deployed vms in the network and their operability should not be disturbed.

You should first try if you can achieve what you want using the updateNetwork API call; https://cloudstack.apache.org/api/apidocs-4.18/apis/updateNetwork.html

Under the table, yes you can. Then there are the reasons it is not advised;

• you mention that other VMs should not be disturbed, if a router is used for any service this one would probably have to restart (highly dpending on the type of service
• the number of DB entries to edit can vary. You are a bit on your own on that.
  I can not think of any other reason off the top of my head.

@DaanHoogland In the api call you referenced I don't see a way to add ipv6 cidr. As far as I can tell this is the only way to change ipv4 cidr. Am I wrong?

maybe I read too fast, you can add ip6dns1 and -2, I'll cjecj the code to see whether cidr recognises ipv6 cidrs.

you are right, the cidr is only interpreted as IPv4 cidr
