   wsl is a mistake.
   

   Why do you think so? Windows is very different when it comes to tools like that.

   Developing for Linux is much more straightforward and easier. It also eliminates the necessity of supporting two different versions of an app.

   I said "REQUIRING wsl is a mistake" - the fact is that there are many more desktop development workstations in the world than linux ones so they should not be ignored. And not everyone wants to work in wsl.
