- This bug does not occur in the latest version of Anki Desktop
What are the steps to reproduce this bug?
- save something to the localStorage
- leave the deck,
- enter a deck
- try to retrieve the value
Expected behaviour
The value should stay retrievable from the localstorage.

In 2.18.0 the value is persisted, but not anymore in 2.20.1.
This bug is also present in 2.21alpha14 Apr 2, 2025 (anki 25.02/038d85b1).
#15911 is about localstorage failure in 2.17.5.

- I have checked the manual and the FAQ and could not find a solution to my issue
- (Optional) I have confirmed the issue is not resolved in the latest alpha release (instructions) This bug is also present in 2.21alpha14 Apr 2, 2025 (anki 25.02/038d85b1).
