The selenium-webdriver@4.0.0-alpha.1 upgrade process will be against the selenium4 branch. The deadline 12/31 was accomplished with a beta release. We are still waiting for additional selenium-webdriver 4 typings. As for the migration, this is mostly done with some clean up work that we could push till the next release.
