How does this work with native ESM package.json subpath imports?

Per vitejs/vite#7770 it seems Vite already supports subpath imports. How does this plugin work in that case? Do they conflict or override?

It appears vite still doesn't understand subpath imports in package.json yet, so this is still needed.
