is there a way to import from a url or is a simple js api planned for launching/opening the build with specific files?

As a progressive enhancement, the app could integrate with the File Handling API or offer itself as a Web Share Target API. This would obviously require glue code that bridges the Wasm app and the APIs available in some browsers.
