Description
Hey man - I just want to reach out to ask you, do you have any up to date hardware requirements for running a solana devnet validator ? I wanted to try running one.
I emailed latitude.sh team and they said I should try the following at the minimum:
f4.metal.small, m4.metal.medium or c3.large.x86
Is that really needed ? I thought I could try running a devnet validator on my local pc, after some small upgrades. Here is my pc now:
(RAM) 32,0 GB
Motherboard ROG MAXIMUS Z690 HERO
CPU 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-12900K, 3200 Mhz, 16 mag, 24 logikai processzor
I could update my RAM to 128GB at most. (I also heard that Accounts has to be stored in RAM, otherwise the SSD dies in a few months cuz of the frequent writes)
What do you think ? Any help is appreciated, thanks!
